Cheating on Stamping

Hi guys, I'm back! I was originally going to take just a little break to enjoy my first ever paid summer holiday, but the break lasted longer than I thought. I'm sorry I didn't announce it beforehand. Anyhow, now I'm back and I have already scheduled and planned quite a few posts to share with you guys, so be sure to check back here again soon. From now on there will be new posts here every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 6 AM (EEST/EET).

You all probably know my struggle with stamping and that I'm not really good at it. A while ago I managed to do a somewhat succesful stamping manicure, but after that I haven't had the courage to try it again. I will much rather do freehand nail art or water marbling than try stamping as it's always so hard. So what do you do when you want that stamping look, but don't really care about stamping? Of course you use water decals that look like you have successfully done a stamping manicure.

I've used water decals quite a few times on manicures where you'd first think that it's stamping nail art rather than decals. I think this look was definitely one of those. If I didn't know that I used decals for this, I would have definitely thought this was stamping. Though I would have never ever managed to do the stamping so neatly and evenly with all the patterns lined on each nail.

I used Dance Legend Jack Frost as my base color. It's quite sheer one, so I used three thicker coats. With those three coats it covered pretty well, though the nail line was still somewhat visible.

Then I just applied the whole nail water decals on top of each nail and finished the look with a coat of top coat. So easy and definitely way less messy than if I had tried to do this look with stamping.

Products used for this manicure
Base coat: Nail Pattern Boldness Digital Hydration
Polishes: Dance Legend Jack Frost (3 coats)
Nail art: Water decals
Top coat: Glisten&Glow HK Girl

  1. Tuo Jack Frost on kyllä mielettömän nätti lakka! :o

    1. Se on kyllä tosi kaunis, harmi vaan se on vähän ohutta, mutta kyllä tietysti kolmella kerroksella sai suht peittävää jälkeä aikaiseksi. :)

  2. Good to have you back. Hope you enjoyed your time off!

This looks great. You're right, decals are way easier, but stamping can be pretty fun. Have you ever tried those new clear, see through stampers yet?

    1. Thank you, I did. :)

Stamping would be fun if I knew how to do it properly... I've tried those see through stampers and actually I managed to do my last almost successful stamping mani with one of those. They sure are helpful and make the job at least a bit easier!
