Water decals are definitely one of my favorite nail art decorations and I'm always happy if I manage to find water decals that are a bit more special. Don't get me wrong, I do love those regular flower water decals and all sorts of feathers, lace patterns and all that, but it's still nice to have something a bit different once in a while. So when I visited Mi Nails in Turku earlier this year and spotted some neon water decals, I just had to buy one sheet so I could try them out.
I did this mani a while ago already, but I haven't posted it since it was a bit of a failure. I do like those neon water decals very much and I still like the fact that they are a bit different, but somehow we didn't really get along when I tried to apply them on my nails.
I used two coats of Essie Take It Outside as my base color. Then I cut some pieces out of those water decals and tried to apply them on my nails. For some reason they didn't want to stick though and I had to work quite hard to get them somehow stick on my nails. I also managed to ruin them a bit more when I applied a coat of top coat over them. Nonetheless, the mani looked pretty good from the distance, but of course you can see all those flaws in these close-up pictures.
Flaws or not, I still liked this manicure very much. I'm always into the combo of nude/neutral colors with some neons, the neutral base makes the neons pop out even more. This could have been really the perfect summer manicure, I just wish we'd have those perfect summer weather to go with this mani.
