Zoya Summer 2015 Paradise Sun Collection - Swatches and Review

Press sample*

Yay, I have finally my laptop back and now it's working as it should, so I can get back to my blog and posting!

It's already almost the end of June and it should be summer already, but the weather has been anything but summery here in Finland. While we are still waiting for the summer to come, at least we can get the summer on our nails already with some bright and fun polishes. Today I have total of six of those shades to share with you! I'm of course talking about Zoya summer 2015 collection called Paradise Sun.

This collection has six beautiful bright summery metallic shimmers in it that will surely get to the warm and sunny mode!

I got the whole Paradise Sun collection for review as well as two cremes (Talia and Cecilia) from the Island Sun collection. I'll show those two cremes later, but for now let's take a closer look at the shimmery Paradise Sun collection.

Aphrodite is described as a vibrant summer red with a micronized pearl metallic finish and multi-hued flash that brings it to life. This is a bit different from all the others since this one has a crelly base with some beautiful flakies. This is more sparkly in the real life as those flakies don't really show up too much on camera. I used two coats here with a top coat. Eventhough this is really pigmeted, there is still a visible nail line, so you might want to add third coat to cover that up. This has a really great formula, it pretty much applies itself.

Genesis is described as a crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish - designed to look like micro-fine diamond dust. It's a beautiful crisp white with gorgeous silver shimmer, but the formula wasn't really great. It was quite hard to apply as it was quite thick and streaky. I used three coats here and a coat of top coat. I wish this had even just slightly better formula as the color and the polish is so pretty.

Isa is described as a deep blue-based purple with a micronized metallic pearl finish and an aqua flash that embodies the beauty of exotic island flowers. It's a deep blurple shimmer and pretty impossible to photograph accurately. It tends to look way too blue in pictures and the beautiful magenta/pink flash and shimmer disappears in the pictures completely. This one had quite a weird smell like some blues and purples have, but it went away when it dried. I used two coats here. It's a stunning shade and the shimmer has even a slight duochrome effect in it from pink to aqua. If you are a purple lover you should definitely get this one!

Mae is described as a warm magenta pink with a micronized metallic pearl finish, reminiscent of vibrant Mediterranean flowers. This is definitely bright summery shade and it has also pretty perfect formula. I used two easy coats with a top coat here. If you want your nails to scream summer then this should be your pick for sure!

Oceane is described as a true turquoise with a micronized metallic pearl finish that reflects the clearest blue ocean waters. As a blue lover I probably don't even need to say it, but this was certainly one of my favorites! It's a stunning blue turquoise shade and it has really a perfect formula. It could even be a one coater, I used two just in case. It's very pigmeted, so be sure to use two coats of base coat under this one. Get this one if you like blue polishes at all!

Selene is described as a true teal with a micronized metallic pearl finish, a unique shade with an aqua fleck that resembles deeper layers of ocean water. This is definitely my other favorite, it's a truly beautiful bright and vivid shade! It even has some pretty aqua flakies in it, so it's quite an unique combination. Selene is another one that is quite hard to photograph, it tends to look a tad too green in pictures. This has a great formula also, I used two easy coats with a top coat here. It's also really pigmented shade, so you should probably use two coats of good base coat under it to prevent any staining.

I think this is a really nice summer collection and I'm pretty sure there's something here for everybody. It's probably not the most unique collection out there, but for me Genesis was really the only disappointment due to the formula, all the others are true pretties and of course the last two, Oceane and Selene are just simply amazing. For some reason the metallic shimmer in most of these makes them look a little flat in the pictures. They really are anything but flat colors, the shimmer in these is actually very beautiful.

Which one of these is your favorite?
