#ablecs15 Week 15: Keeping It Simple

The theme for today's manicure, Keeping It Simple, sounds simple enough, but somehow it proved to be a bit difficult. As a nail polish blogger it can be sometimes difficult to know what really is simple when it comes to nail art. Usually we bloggers are used to doing more complicated stuff and so something that looks simple to us, isn't really simple at all.

Well, I really wanted to do proper Keeping It Simple manicure and use this theme to create nail art that really is simple enough for everyone to do. So I decided to do this look that everyone can do even if you just own couple nail polishes and don't have any nail art tools or equipments.

I used Essie Perennial Chic from sprin 2015 Flowerista collection as my base color. Then I just simply did some really basic dotting tool flowers on my middle and ring fingers with three other Essie polishes from the same collection. I used the namesake polish of the collection, Flowerista and Garden Variety for the petals and Picked Perfect for the centre of the flowers. As I said, this is really a design that you can do with just couple polishes and no tools. I of course used four different polishes in total, but you can do this with just two colors. I also used a dotting tool for this. It's a great basic nail art tool and I highly recommend to everybody, but you can still do this even without any dotting tools. You can use pretty much anything that has similar tip in it as a substitute. Pins, pens, bobby pins, you name it, as long as it has that round tip, it will work just fine as a dotting tool.

Last weekend I got to participate in this huge beauty and nail polish bloggers' meet-up and we all got the whole Essie Flowerista collection to take home in our goodie bags! I think that this is pretty awesome spring collection, I love all the vibrant colors for spring. I already swatched all the polishes, so I'll have my swatches to share with you tomorrow and I'll talk more about the collection then!

Products used for this manicure

  1. Kauniit kynnet!

  3. Onpas kauniit kynnet!! Flowerista kokoelmalle laskettakoon plussaksi hyvä tunnistettavuus, sillä huomasin heti kynsistä että olet koristellut niillä lakoilla. ;-D

    1. Kiitos! Totta, kokoelman lakat on kyllä tosi tunnistettavia jostain syystä, ainakin jos käyttää useampaa samassa lakkauksessa. :)
