The second theme of this week is Matte and I have to admit that this time I took the easy way out with the manicure and I just did a mani and added some matte top coat over it. It's definitely matte as the theme required, but ideally I would have wanted to do some gorgeous matte design for this theme. Then again, this is a great example of mani that works really well as matte as well as regular shiny manicure.
This is actually the mani that I did for this weekend when I was visiting Turku and went to this huge beauty blogger's meetup. I had awesome time there and I think my mani was pretty perfect for the occasion!
I first used one coat of Essie Tuck It In My Tux as my base color. Then I added a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust over it to give the mani some gorgeous sparkle. Then I did a quick gradient by sponging some Dance Legend Holy Diver over my tips and I also added some white water decals. Finally to make this mani suit the challenge, I of course added the coat of matte top coat. I used my favorite matte top coat: Cirque Colors Matte Look.
I went to the meetup with the shiny version of this manicure and then when I got back home I added the coat of matte top coat. Now looking back I have to say that I should have made it matte in the first place! It's looked really pretty shiny too, but somehow it looked even more special as matte to me.
