Spring is almost here, so that means of course that also those spring collections are showing up. I don't usually care too much about seasons and I wear pretty much anything I feel like wearing regardless of the time of the year. However, somehow this year I have been really waiting for the spring to come already, but at least all those soft and bright spring colored polishes are making the wait seem a bit shorter. And what a treat I have for you today!
I received the whole Cirque spring collection called The Awakening + Matte Look Top Coat for review just the other day and I just had to swatch these pretties for you immediately, since they looked so delicious in the bottles! This is going to be quite a picture heavy posts, so be prepared. ;)
The Awakening collection is a limited edition collection with five polishes that all have a unique shimmer effect. These will be launching on March 9th, but you can already pre-order your favorites from Cirque.
First off is the beautiful black Gaia with silver flecks. I've said it over and over again that I don't really like wearing black polishes too much since they always look so dark, so I thought I might not like this one too much on my nails. I was quite wrong as this is such a pretty one and it's certainly something else than just a regular black. I love those silver flecks in this one and the fact that they are really visible on nail too and that there are plenty of them. Also those flecks are really flat, so they don't stick out and you won't need several coats of top coat to make this one smooth, it's really smooth just by itself. This was such an easy one to apply, it went just where it was supposed to go. I used two coats here, no base or top coat.
This second one has certainly really appropriate name: it's called Hatch and speckled white that looks just like a birds egg. This gives your nail such an interesting look, I definitely love this one. It has a pretty perfect formula too, it only needed two coats for full coverage and it applies pretty much itself.
This lovely warm pink is called Love Stone and Cirque describes this one as a petal pink with gold sparks. The golden shimmer is really pretty in this one and I love the fact that you can really see the shimmer on nail too, it doesn't disappear somewhere like some shimmers tend to do. Many times these type of warm peachy pinks can be a bit tricky as they really don't suit my skintone that well, but with this one I didn't have that problem. It didn't look wrong even with my pale winter skin and I'm pretty sure it would look even better with a slight tan. It's truly a lovely color and perfect for spring.
Love Stone was the most sheer out of these all, I needed three coats for full coverage. It went on a bit patchy with the first coat, but the second and the third evened it out nicely.
New Moon is a beautiful concrete grey with silver sparks. The shimmer in this one is similar to the golden shimmer in Love Stone, but it's of course silver. I really really love that shimmer as it's so visible on nail too! The grey shade in this one is really beautiful too, it's not too dark but not too light either. This was also very easy to apply, I used two effortless coats here, no base or top coat.
Last but definitely - if you know me - not least is the stunning blue called Qi. Cirque describes this as a blue turquoise with gold sparks. It's a truly beautiful one and I'm completely in love with it! The golden shimmer in it looks almost green in some angles and it makes the polish look really gorgeous. Once again, this was two easy-breezy coats, no top coat here. Did I already say that I love this one?! I just had to include one extra picture of this as it's just such a stunner.
But I said something about a matte top coat, didn't I? Yup, it's the latest addition to Cirque treatments and it will launch on March 9th too, but it's also already available for pre-order. I wanted to try it with some of these Awakening collection polishes, so I applied one coat of the Matte Look over Gaia, Hatch and Qi.
Looks pretty great, right? I think it gives a beautiful matte effect and it applies really easily. I didn't have any problems with it and it was easy to apply evenly on top of each polish. It seemed to dry quite quickly too, but I always recommend that you apply first a quick drying top coat over your polish and after that the matte top coat. This way your manicure will probably last a bit longer too.
It's not probably hard to guess my favorite out of this collection. Qi is definitely my kind of polish, but I really love this whole collection. If I had to name another favorite, it would probably be Hatch, but like I said, it's a great collection and I can easily recommend them all as they are all such lovely colors and have an awesome formula too.
These will all lauch on March 9th at cirquecolors.com, but like I said, you can already pre-order them. You can also buy Cirque polishes from a number of different stockists.
Which one these is your favorite?
