#ablecaw14 Week 14: Old Manicure Revisited

This turned out to be saran wrap manicure week since my second #ablecaw14 manicure is also a saran wrap mani. I was asked to do a tutorial of this technique, so I decided to do it as a part of this #ablecaw14 manicure. It was a perfect choice for this theme since I've been wanting to do one saran wrap look again and as the theme of this second mani is Old Manicure Revisited. I'll post that tutorial separately, so if you want to see that, be sure to check back here later today.

But anyhow, here's my Old Manicure Revisited:

Almost two years ago I did this gold and green saran wrap manicure and I really loved the look. Ever since I've been wanting to do another saran wrap with similar colors and this theme was the perfect opportunity to do that. In fact I decided to use OPI GoldenEye which I also used for the original look and I only changed the polish that I used as my base color. I wanted to keep the colors similar, so I went with dark teal holo from I Love Nail Polish called Fall Semester.

Yeah, two years is quite a long time!

I still love this look very much and with darker base color, this really turned out to be very suitable manicure for the holidays too. Don't forget to check back for that tutorial later today!

So tell me, the old one or the new one?

  1. New one. It looks like turquoise. I like the darker one too but the base seems to pop more with the lighter shade beneath the gold.

    1. That's true about the base color. :) Glad to know you like them both! :)

    1. Jep, tuosta uudesta tuli tosi jouluinen vaikka en varsinaisesti sitä yrittänytkään. :D Kannattaa ehdottomasti kokeilla tätä, tosi helppoa ja nopeeta! :)

  4. Yay saran wrap! Love this technique.
While I normally prefer darker greens, I too like the combination with a lighter base a bit better.

    1. Saran wrap is an awesome technique! :)
I would probably normally like the lighter base also, but as I did this just before Christmas I felt like the darker base worked really well. :)
