Brown Skittlette with Pretty&Polished, Peggy Sage and Essie

Press sample*

I'm normally not that into brown polishes, but somehow I have ended up with a few browns this fall. I had one brown-ish jelly glitter and one brown shimmer waiting for getting on my nails, so I decided to combine them, and one new glitter too, to one manicure and so became this brown skittlette.

I used two coats of Peggy Sage Fancy Taupe on my thumb and index nails and three coats of Pretty&Polished There Is S'more To Life on my middle and ring finger nails. Then I also wanted to add some more glitter and sparkle, so I used Essie's new Luxeffects glitter on my pinky nails. This one is called Summit of Style and I used three coats of it.

Mimax just recently added some of Pretty&Polished lacquers to their selection, so I chose There Is S'more To Life for review since I had never tried this brand before. I'm not the biggest fan of brown polishes, but I chose this one as it seemed like a beautiful mix of different colored glitter and light jelly base, and also because I don't own anything similar. I really like the name too, it's so cute! This was quite easy to apply and you get nice amount of those glitters on your nails really easily. I had to use three coats since the base color is so light, but it covered quite nicely with those three coats.

I got that Peggy Sage Fancy Taupe for review from Meikit Heaven and once again, I wasn't entirely sure if I would like it, since it was quite brown... It has a gorgeous golden shimmer that is more visible in the bottle, but you can see it on the nail too. The shimmer makes this polish look really beautiful and eventhough it is really brown on nail, I quite liked it. This covered nicely with just two coats, but it was a bit runny, so you need to be careful while applying it or you'll have it all over your cuticles.

The third polish of this manicure, Essie Summit of Style was also sent for me for review. I own quite a few Essie Luxeffects glitter toppers already as I really like them and many of them are just perfect mixes of different sized glitters. Perfect toppers! This time I wanted to try if you could use these also for accent nail alone and you really can, since at least this one only needed three coats for coverage. It also looks really cool as an accent nail, though of course these are gorgeous as glitter toppers too.

Here you can maybe see that shimmer in Fancy Taupe a bit better. Gorgeous, right?!

Kiitoskiitoskiitos! :D

  5. Hi Annie, I love this look! I'm not that into browns, either, but every once in awhile (especially in the fall), the color feels right. You've inspired me today!

    1. Thank you Cat! That's really great to hear! :) Fall is definitely the perfect time for browns, I should wear them more often. Somehow I just feel more comfortable with anything but brown. :)
