Zoya Nyssa Skittlette

I haven't done any water marbling for a while and I felt like it was about time to do some. There's a marbling theme in the Finnish(able) Nail Art Challenge too, but since there's still quite some time until that, I decided to do a manicure that isn't part of the challenge. I got some inspiration for this manicure also from Papu since she has done quite a few gorgeous manicures with one or two water marbled accent nails.

I knew from the beginning that I wanted to use Zoya Nyssa for this manicure, since it was the only one left that I hadn't yet tried from those new Zoyas that I got for review. Nyssa was the only one that I got from the creme Entice part of the Zoya fall collection and I asked for it, since I thought it looked like a pretty perfect milk chocolate creme. However, I'm not the biggest fan of brown polishes and that's why I wanted to combine it with some bright and lovely colors, especially some bright blue. Kiko's Cerulean Blue (295) was waiting among my untrieds, so I chose to use it for this manicure. I also thought that Essie's Urban Jungle would make a nice combination with those two, so it became my third water marbling color. Lastly I needed some glitter and L.A. Girl's Spatter seemed to be perfect for that job.

I painted my thumb and index fingers with three thin coats of Urban Jungle and topped them with one coat of Spatter. Then I did my pinky with Nyssa and topped it also with Spatter. I painted my middle and ring fingers first with one coat of Urban Jungle and then, like I said, I did the water marbling with Nyssa, Urban Jungle and Cerulean Blue.

I really liked this manicure - the bright blue Kiko and the off-white Essie went really well together with the brown Zoya. I also really liked the combination of Nyssa and Spatter, the glitters look really good over that brown!

Aaand I of course wanted to show you my swatch of Nyssa alone too, since I thought it was quite pretty!
I have here two coats of Nyssa, no base or top coat. It dries a tad darker than it looks in the bottle. Nyssa was really easy to apply, it went just where I wanted it and two coats give you full coverage. I'm really surprised that I liked this very much as browns and especially brown cremes aren't always my favorite colors on nail. This really looks like you have covered your nails with melted milk chocolate, I almost felt like tasting my nails a bit... :D

Do you guys like brown polish? When was the last time you water marbled?

*****
Pitkästä aikaa teki kovasti mieli vesimarmoroida ja Zoyan Nyssa odotteli vielä testausvuoroaan syksyn uusista lakoista, joten päädyin tekemään vesimarmorointia sillä sekä Essien Urban Junglella ja Kikon Cerulean Bluella (295). Papun monista kauniista vesimarmorointiskittleteistä nappasin lakkaukseen hieman inspiraatiota ja tein itsekin skittletten kahdella vesimarmoroidulla kynnellä. Muut kynnet lakkailin samoilla lakoilla, joita käytin marmoroinnissakin sekä L.A.

  5. Yay for a water marble! :) I just recently finally sort of really figured them out and been obsessed with doing them ever since.
Though, yup, you used my least favourite colours, haha (brown & blue).

    1. I should really do more of these water marbles, somehow I just always end up doing something else...
Oh man, I was trying combine that brown with colors that would make it more appealing, but I guess that didn't work out with you if you don't like blue either. :D
