Nail Polish Battle: Barry M Greenberry vs. Kiko Mint Milk (389) vs. Color Club Blue-Ming

It's been quite a while since the last Nail Polish Battle, so I thought it was about time to have one!

This time the battle is going to be between three bright minty ones: Barry M Greenberry*, Kiko Mint Milk (389) and Color Club Blue-Ming. They do look quite similar in the bottles, right?

Well, they do look quite similar on nail too, though there is a slight difference between all these three, so they are not exact dupes. Barry M's Greenberry is the darkest shade of these three, Kiko seems to be in the middle and the Color Club one is the lightest, though again, the difference is quite small even from Greenberry to Blue-Ming. Also, Blue-Ming and Mint Milk are very close even color-wise, you have to look very closely to see that they do have slight color difference. Oh and I added Essie's Mint Candy Apple here too, just for reference, though as you can see, it's quite different compared to these three.

The colors are so bright that me and my camera had some difficulties capturing the right colors. So I think you can see the color difference in these bottle pictures sligthly better than in that previous picture without the bottle. All these three have pretty much the same creme formula and application. They are bit difficult to handle, as these type of colors tend to be. So I used three coats of each polish here,  with top coat. All of these really needed three coats for full coverage and for getting them level out nicely.

I do love this type of bright minty color, but surely I'm not going to need three quite similar ones. I don't think there's big enough difference formulawise or colorwise either, so for now I think I'm still going to keep two out of these three. Therefore I think it makes sense to keep the lightest one (Color Club) and the darkest one (Barry M).

Final Verdict: So just because of this, Kiko has to go.

Which one of these three did you guys prefer?

Disclosure: I have gotten Barry M Greenberry originally for review from Kosmetik4Less. For more information see my disclosure policy.

  2. They are all subtly different! All pretty and I think the first photo from pinkie to index is going from lighter to darker! :-)

    1. That's true! :) The first photo isn't totally accurate, I think the color difference is more true to real life in the other two pictures. But it does kinda look like an ombre manicure. :)

    1. Oh, that's really annoying when you can't get a polish that you really want! Kiko isn't available here in Finland either, so I have to buy those whenever I travel to other countries in Europe. But I've seen some info that they are beginning to open Kiko stores in US too, maybe you'll be able to get Kikos soon? :)
