China Glaze It's a Trap-eze!

Today I have one of polishes from China Glaze Cirque du Soleil collection for you guys. Also, don't forget to participate in my American Apparel giveaway, here.

I had to show you this one first from picks from this collection, because this is definately my favourite one. It's a milky white jelly base with multi-colored glitter. I think this is really an awesome polish, though you have to work a bit to get it look nice. First I did two thin coats with some additional glitter placing and then topped it of with a bit thicker third coat. So the formula isn't anything you couldn't work with if you just are a bit more careful than usual. Also you probably need to use two coats of top coat, because this dries a bit bumpy. I think the polish is so pretty that at least I'm willing to put some extra work in just to wear this. It's so pretty and fun, so in my opinion this a must-have polish, because there isn't too many polishes like this, at least not made by mainstream brands. In fact, this does look a lot like an indie polish. So get this while you can!

Color Club Gift of Sparkle

Today I have a polish from a this year's holiday collection for you. It's from Color Club's Winter Affair holiday collection and it's the purple one called Gift of Sparkle, take a look!

The coverage with this wasn't so good, so I used three coats. This was also at the same time really thick and quite goopy so you had to be really careful not to end up with too thick coats of polish. If I'd love the color, I guess I could forgive these issues, but somehow this wasn't so special to me colorwise either. Which is kind of surprising as it is my favourite color, purple and also it has some holographic glitter in it. But I guess the issues with the quality of this polish made me like it less colorwise too.. And I do have a similar polish in my stash (Kiko #255) that I prefer over this, so I guess Gift of Sparkle won't be having a place in my stash.

American Apparel Giveaway!

I haven't had a giveaway here in my blog for a while and I decided that it was time again to thank all my readers, so here's a little American Apparel giveaway for you guys! I hope you all like it!

There will be two winners and both prizes are basically the same. I just want to quickly remind you that I'm still doing my studies at university, so I'm constantly on student budget, so these prizes won't be so huge that some blog have. But I've bought everything with my own money and everything is new and unused. So, let's see the prizes, right?

So both prizes have three American Apparel polishes (both have the same polishes) and one sheet of 3D-color pads (16 pads in each).

The polishes in both prizes are called Office, L'Esprit and Dance.

You get one entry by participating to the giveaway, but you can also get extra entries too. Those extra entries are voluntary and you can do only one or both or none. I also added question about your home country to the end of the form just because I'd like to know where my readers come from, but answering that doesn't give any extra entries or isn't in any way mandatory. Also there's a comment box at the end if youd like to say something, but again that's not mandatory or doesn't give any entries.

So here are the rules:
1. You must be a public follower via Google Friend Connect, new followers are of course welcome. Let me know your GFC name and your e-mail, so I can easily contact the winner. (1 entry)
2. If the winner(s) doesn't answer to my email within 48 hours, I will draw another winner.

For extra entries:
2. You can post about this giveaway or put it in your giveaway page or sidebar. You can use one of those pictures too. Please provide a link. (3 entries)
3. Add me to your blogroll or if I'm already there, please provide a link. (1 entry)

The giveaway is open internationally! To participate just fill the form below.

This giveaway will end on 16th December 2012 at 9PM (EEST).  ***CLOSED!***

Color Club Blue Heaven

I have another one of those new amazing Color Club holographics for you guys, this time it's the blue one suitably called Blue Heaven.

The first two pics are taken in direct sun light, the two after that are not in direct sun light and the last one is taken in shade. Okey, so this was again awesome quality, but I'm not gonna go more into that, because I could just repeat what I said when I posted the first one, Cherubic

But yeah, nothing to complain here and I do also like the color. It's probably not the most unique color in the world, but I like it, because with this the color is kind of only barely there. You know and see it's a blue, but it's not too obviously blue, if you get what I mean... I do have few blue holographics, but most of them are darker ones or more clearly blue ones.. Or don't have this kind of strong linear holo effect. So I'm really loving this and it'll have a special place in my collection like all the other precious holographics of mine. :))

Glitter Sandwich with Models Own Ibiza Mix

I have another glitter sandwich for you today. I recently got Models Own Ibiza Mix and I immediately wanted to use it for a glitter sandwich, because I really loved Sonne's glitter sandwich mani with the same polish. I just didi it with a different base color.

So I used China Glaze For Audrey as a base color, then I used two coats of Models Own Ibiza Mix and then one coat of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu. I have to say that I'm not sure if this was 100% what I was aiming for.. I did like this and it looked quite cute, but somehow I wasn't completely feeling it. And I prefered Sonne's version over this, maybe I just should have copied it completely, lol. Oh, and sorry about the blue smudge on my index nail, at work I had to add ink to something like 50 stamps and I didn't have chance to take pictures before that and then it was too late..

OPI Germany Water Marble

Today I have a water marble manicure for you that I did with two OPI Germany collection polishes and on American Apparel polish.

I used OPI My Very First Knockwurst as a base and then did the water marling using also My Very First Knockwurst, OPI Berlin There Done That and American Apparel Dynasty. After the marbling was dry I topped it off with GOSH Vanilla Ice. I really liked this color combination, it was quite appropriate for fall. Also water marbling does become easier every time I try it, so I guess I just have to keep trying, because I really like the look you can get with it and there are so many possible color combinations and patterns that you can try!

China Glaze I'm Not Lion

Today I have a quick post for you with a pretty gold glitter polish from a this autumn's collection.

So I'm talking about China Glaze I'm Not Lion, three thin coats here with base and top coat. This is a pretty neat gold glitter. It's infact more like a antique gold color and I do have to say that I prefer this color over the more yellow gold ones, because I think this kind of gold suits me better. I also like the fact that this has some multi-colored glitter in it, it makes it more interesting and gives it a nice sparkle when the light hits the polish. So overall, I really enjoyed this one! This isn't very gritty, so you could wear it even without topcoat, but I prefer a totally smooth surface, so I topped this of with a nice coat of topcoat.

American Apparel Skittle Gradient

I recently got some American Apparel polishes and all those cremes looked so pretty together that I decided to combine several of them to one manicure and did a skittle gradient.

I used total of five American Apparel polishes for this (two for each nail) and then topped it all of with Color Club Starry Temptress Topcoat. The polishes that I used in order from thumb to pinky are Dance, Office, L'Esprit, The Valley, Dynasty (and Dance again). I really liked this look, it was quite fun and fairly easy to do. I used a reagular white polish as a base color and I noticed that the American Apparel polishes were a bit sheer, so I needed to sponge two or even three coats to get the colors show up better, but other than that they worked nicely and I do love the colors together.

Oh, and if you're wondering why my nail length is changing from long to short and long again, it's because I have these older manicures that I haven't shown you yet in my files, but sometimes I want to show you some newer ones too and in those I had to shorten my nails because I broke my ring finger nail.

*I received a gift card to American Apparel European webstore and used it to buy the polishes in this post. For more information, please view my disclosure policy.

Color Club Cherubic

I was soooo happy (like many other bloggers) when I first heard about Color Club's holographic Halo Hues collection and when they finally made it to e-tailers sites, of course I had to have some. I almost bought all of them, but then I decided that two were too similar with some other holo polishes that I already own, so I restricted myself and only got four. And today I have first one of those four to show you!

So this one is called Cherubic and it's a really great neutral holo. The formula of all these is amazing, they don't run or leave bald spots or pull or anything like that. And they don't even need a special base coat like you need with some other holographic polishes to avoid the spreading issues. Also this was opaque in two coats and you can safely use a top coat too, because it doesn't dull the holographic effect. And as you can see, the linear holographic effect it really strong, so all in all, I truly love these! I do wish that they had tried to make maybe some different colors, but I'm certainly not complaining, because the polish companies have finally heard our wishes and made some bad-ass linear holographics!

I also have to say that this Cherubic is really gorgeous and I love the color, it's a work appropriate holo.

I also have some pics in shade too:
I think this is really pretty in shade too, of course it's not so flashy, but I do still like the color.
