So yesterday I posted a list of my favourite polishes of 2012 and today it's time for my top ten of manicures this year. Again, these are in no particular order and I added the links to the original posts, if you want to take a closer look.
I know that there's nothing special with this last mani, it's just plain polish. But I wanted to add Oui to some list as I only got to wore it this year, but I came out 2011, so I didn't want to put it on the polish list. So I tought it deserved a place here, as it is really awesome polish!
So that was my top ten manicures of 2012. Which one was your favourite?
Last year I did posts of my favourite polishes and favourite manicures of 2011 and I decided to do the same thing again this year. I think it's really fun to look back and see what I really enjoyed and loved. I've been really busy this year and I haven't had as much time for my blog as I would have liked, so in result there hasn't been as many posts here in my blog as I would have liked. Lately I've been trying to catch up and I try to keep posting more regularly next year. So there isn't really that many posts to choose my favourites from, but I still managed to choose my 10 favourite polishes and 10 favourite manicures of this year. Today I have the top ten of polishes and tomorrow it's going to be the manicures.
These aren't really in no particular order, because I just couldn't figure out what I would like the most and so on. I also included the links to my posts about the polishes if you want to take better look.
This is just so amazing that it just couldn't be one of my favourites. In fact, this is probably one of my all time favourite polishes. The color itself is soooo gorgeous and the quality is nothing but amazing as this is a one coater! I just love this so much!
This is one polish that hasn't been seen too much in other blogs. But I really think this deserves more attention, it's really a gorgeous purple! The combination of the base color and the shimmer is also quite unique to me and the quality was great too as you can almost get away with only one coat if you are careful.
What can I say about this, it's just so gorgeous! And this is one of those polishes that is even better seen in real life that in pics. In here I have two coats over black and I have to say this is the best multichrome glitter that I own, it's just pure awesomeness! I just wish the bottle of this was bigger.
Of course I had to include Fantasy Fire to my list, it's just so amazing. And for purple lover like me, it's really a must have polish. I'm sooo glad that it is more available nowadays, so more people can get it without paying the ridicilous prices on ebay.
I wasn't really sure if I should put this on the list or not, but the fact is that I really enjoyed wearing this and this a really a great polish in every aspect. I do love glitter polishes and this is really great quite neutral one, but the amazing sparkle makes it to stand out. And I love the name of this polish too, it's so cute.
I really had to pick one of the Color Club's Halo Hues polishes to my list as the quality of these is really outstanding. And colorwise this was really my favourite one. The holographic effect is awesome and like I said, these have probably the best quality of all the linear holo polishes that I've tried.
I loooove OPI Extravagance and Miss Conduct is like a baby sister of that polish, so of course I love it! The color is so rich and it's holographic, so there's really no way that I wouldn't love this one.
What polishes would you pick as your favourite ones of this year?
Today I have another polish from Orly's this year holiday collection for you guys. And this time it's my ultimate favourite polish from all of this year's holiday collections.
This is Orly Miss Conduct and it really is like a pink little sister of OPI Extravagance, which happens to be one of my all time favourite polishes. So no wonder I loved this one so much too! It is soooo pretty and if you are like me and love Extravagance, you'll love this one too. I'm a bit bummed out that sun wasn't shining whne I took this pics, because then you would have seen it in it's whole glory, but it's really pretty in shade too. The quality was great also, so if you like the color, you should really pick this up, I'm sure you won't regret it.
Today I have just a quick post with a pretty Orly polish from their last year holiday collection.
I've shown you Orly Oui before from this same collection and now I have the sister polish for Oui, this one is of course Ingenue. I do love pink/purple polishes with this kind of gold shimmer as Oui and Zoya Faye are really favourites of mine. This one is really close to Zoya Faye, infact they look pretty much the same in bottle. I did look up some swatches before ordering this, and in some this looked a bit different from Faye, so I wanted to try it myself. I think I need to do a comparison of these too, but now I only wanted to wear this. And well, I loved it too, of course! :)
Today I have a really awesome polish, that is also a good alternative for a polish, that is really hard to find. Yeah, of course I'm talking about Max Factor Fantasy Fire. This finally came available here in Finland too, so I definately had to get one. Well, if I'm totally honest, I go two, because the bottle is so small, that I was afraid that if I only bought one, I wouldn't be able to use it as much as I would like.
Fantasy Fire is really sheer by itself so it's really better layered over some other polish. This time I layered it over a-england Avalon, because the purple color of Avalon felt really suiteble for the purple tones of Fantasy Fire. And I really loved this combo! You can really see the purple side of Fantasy Fire, but also the green pops out in some lighting or angle. I just love this! I need to try other layering combos too, I've heard that this looks also good over blue and black, and there's really endless amount of layering possibilities.
So now I have the giveaway winner for you! There were total of 431 entries and first I really want to thank you all for you awesome comments and feedback! I've read all the comments and I'll try also to answer some of the requests that I got. I also wanted to tell you that if you didn't get lucky this time, don't worry, I'm planning on another (small) giveaway, so if you didn't win this time, there's another change coming up after Christmas. :)
But I know you really want to hear who the winners are, right?! So I randomly selected the winners (using random.org) and the winners are:
Congrats to both of you!
I will email you both shortly and please try to answer within the next 48 hours! :)
Today I have just a quick post with a simple mani.
For this I used China Glaze For Audrey as the base color and then topped it off with just one coat of Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air. Very simple, but at least in my opinion, very cute too. I really like the subtle effect that you can get with Glitter in the Air, you get something extra and the glitter is there, but not too much. I just wish there were a tad more those large blue ones, but other than that, I really like it.
I have another holiday glitter for you guys today, this time it's from China Glaze.
Unlike Orly Devil May Care that I showed you yesterday, China Glaze Glitter All The Way doesn't really screm holidays to me, though it's definately suitable to use around holiday of course. I was little hesitant about getting this, because I was worried that I might not like it that much. But I decided to give it a try anyways as there was room for one polish in my latest order and well, I probably should have picked something else. Sure, I don't have anything quite like this in my stash, but I do have several multicolored glitters that I prefer over this. Somehow this looked a bit dirty to me or something... Or maybe it's just the fact that my stash has become quite big, so it's a bit harder to justify the need for more polishes..?
Today I have a polish from Orly's this year's holiday collection for you guys.
So this is three coats of Devil May Care with base and top coat. This is pretty much screams Christmas and I'm not sure if this is even wearable at any other time, because it has so strong Christmas feeling to it. Well, maybe over some other polish, I don't know.. This sure is pretty, but somehow it didn't win me over like I expected it to. I guess it's just the fact that I already own the perfect red Christmas polish (China Glaze Ruby Pumps of course) and I'm not sure if I need another red that is so Christmassy too, if you know what I mean. Also this was a bit sheer, so I needed to use three coats that were quite thick too, but that can be good thing also, because it means you can easily layer this with some other polish.
Today it's Finland's Independence Day and I wanted to a manicure that would fit the day and the colors of our flag. But I didn't want to do a flag manicure so I did a funky french mani with white and blue.
So first I did my nails with China Glaze White Out and then I painted the tips with free hand using Color Club Cold Metal. The lines aren't maybe perfect, but I don't like to use tip guides or tape to make a french manicure, because it's so much easier to do it without those things. I also added some rhinestones to get more sparkle to the mani.
Nail Tek Foundation II
China Glaze White Out 3 coats
Color Club Cold Metal 1 coat (tips)
China Glaze Fast Forward
Happy Independence Day Finland! Hyvää itsenäisyyspäivää Suomi!
I have another awesome polish from Color Club Halo Hues for you guys today!
This is the green one called Angel Kiss and oh my how gorgeous it is! If I loved the previous two that I've already shown you from this collection (Blue Heaven, Cherubic), I love this one even more. So yeah, I think this is my favourite one. And again the quality was great, so I have no complaints about this polish. I was little hesitant if I should even get any polishes from this collection as the colors are quite standard, but I'm soooo glad I got four out of the total of six. The quality really is so amazing and I do love the colors too! It's true that the colors aren't the most innovative ones, but with this quality I don't really care...
I have also one shade pic to show you how this looks in shade. I thought that this is quite a pretty color in shade too.
Today I have one of polishes from China Glaze Cirque du Soleil collection for you guys. Also, don't forget to participate in my American Apparel giveaway, here.
I had to show you this one
first from picks from this collection, because this is definately my
favourite one. It's a milky white jelly base with multi-colored glitter.
I think this is really an awesome polish, though you have to work a bit
to get it look nice. First I did two thin coats with some additional
glitter placing and then topped it of with a bit thicker third coat. So
the formula isn't anything you couldn't work with if you just are a bit
more careful than usual. Also you probably need to use two coats of top
coat, because this dries a bit bumpy. I think the polish is so pretty
that at least I'm willing to put some extra work in just to wear this.
It's so pretty and fun, so in my opinion this a must-have polish,
because there isn't too many polishes like this, at least not made by
mainstream brands. In fact, this does look a lot like an indie polish.
So get this while you can!
Today I have a polish from a this year's holiday collection for you. It's from Color Club's Winter Affair holiday collection and it's the purple one called Gift of Sparkle, take a look!
The coverage with this wasn't so good, so I used three coats. This was also at the same time really thick and quite goopy so you had to be really careful not to end up with too thick coats of polish. If I'd love the color, I guess I could forgive these issues, but somehow this wasn't so special to me colorwise either. Which is kind of surprising as it is my favourite color, purple and also it has some holographic glitter in it. But I guess the issues with the quality of this polish made me like it less colorwise too.. And I do have a similar polish in my stash (Kiko #255) that I prefer over this, so I guess Gift of Sparkle won't be having a place in my stash.
I haven't had a giveaway here in my blog for a while and I decided that it was time again to thank all my readers, so here's a little American Apparel giveaway for you guys! I hope you all like it!
There will be two winners and both prizes are basically the same. I just want to
quickly remind you that I'm still doing my studies at university, so
I'm constantly on student budget, so these prizes won't be so huge that
some blog have. But I've bought everything with my own money and
everything is new and unused. So, let's see the prizes, right?
So both prizes have three American Apparel polishes (both have the same polishes) and one sheet of 3D-color pads (16 pads in each).
The polishes in both prizes are called Office, L'Esprit and Dance.
get one entry by participating to the giveaway, but you can also get
extra entries too. Those extra entries are voluntary and you can do
only one or both or none. I also added question about your home
country to the end of the form just because I'd like to know where my
readers come from, but answering that doesn't give any extra entries
or isn't in any way mandatory. Also there's a comment box at the end if
youd like to say something, but again that's not mandatory or doesn't
give any entries.
So here are the rules:
1. You must
be a public follower via Google Friend Connect, new followers are of
course welcome. Let me know your GFC name and your e-mail, so I can
easily contact the winner. (1 entry) 2. If the winner(s) doesn't answer to my email within 48 hours, I will draw another winner.
For extra entries:
You can post about this giveaway or put it in your giveaway page or
sidebar. You can use one of those pictures too. Please provide a link. (3 entries)
3. Add me to your blogroll or if I'm already there, please provide a link. (1 entry)

This giveaway will end on 16th December 2012 at 9PM (EEST). ***CLOSED!***
I have another one of those new amazing Color Club holographics for you guys, this time it's the blue one suitably called Blue Heaven.
The first two pics are taken in direct sun light, the two after that are not in direct sun light and the last one is taken in shade. Okey, so this was again awesome quality, but I'm not gonna go more into that, because I could just repeat what I said when I posted the first one, Cherubic.
But yeah, nothing to complain here and I do also like the color. It's probably not the most unique color in the world, but I like it, because with this the color is kind of only barely there. You know and see it's a blue, but it's not too obviously blue, if you get what I mean... I do have few blue holographics, but most of them are darker ones or more clearly blue ones.. Or don't have this kind of strong linear holo effect. So I'm really loving this and it'll have a special place in my collection like all the other precious holographics of mine. :))
